Pray without ceasing

Last night, our hometown was devastated by a massive tornado. We are safe. All of our family members are safe. But please, please, please lift up Tuscaloosa in your prayers. The heart of our city was decimated and the pictures bring tears to my eyes.

More soon, but know we are safe, grateful and trying to help.

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

He is Risen!!!

Happy Easter! I grew up in a wonderful Methodist church, and today, the Apostles' Creed is still one of my favorite affirmations of faith. It sums my beliefs up. It is a statement I am proud to make.

While today we attend a non-denominational church, I turned to this this morning, as a wonderful reminder that He is risen today and because Christ died and rose again for us, this world? It's only temporary.

Blessings on Easter to you all!

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
   maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
      born of the virgin Mary,
      suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;*
   the third day he rose from the dead;
   he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of the Father Almighty.
from thence he shall come again to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
   the holy catholic** Church,
   the communion of saints,
   the forgiveness of sins,
   the resurrection of the body,
   and the life everlasting. Amen.

Glory be to God today! I hope all of you have a wonderful Easter with your families. Much love from ours,

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Simply the Best: NCAA Champions

Our trip to Cleveland for the NCAA Gymnastics Championships was a perfect one. Alabama beat out UCLA and four other teams to win the 2011 team title, and I couldn't be prouder of my school or my family!

I'm not sure Cleveland will be on my "must return to" list, but it was certainly a weekend for the ages.

Roll Tide Roll everyone!

Second favorite shot of the weekend:

Favorite shot of the weekend:

Home sweet home:

Alabama Gymnastics enJOYed the journey this year! Hope you enjoyed sharing the trip with me! :-) Back to regular blog programming soon. I'm sure.

The Road to Cleveland

To say that our trip up to Cleveland was amazing would be an understatement. We had a blast traveling with friends. We got to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And we got to watch Alabama win the NCAA Gymnastics Championship. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect weekend!

On the road:

Touchdown in Cleveland:

Walking to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - with coffee of course:

At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

That's part one of our trip! It was sooooo much fun. :-) I got time with family, time with friends, and some adventures under my belt!

I'll blog the BEST part of the trip very soon!

Away we go....

My sweet husband and I are slipping away this weekend. Where are we heading? Why, to cheer on the Crimson Tide of course!

It's time to see if the SEC champions can snag an NCAA title this year as well. We will cheer our hearts out, have a blast, and do a bit of exploring together. I can't wait.

I love cheering on my Alabama teams and my family. It's going to be the BEST! So, everyone cross your fingers, say a prayer and hope that I'm blogging about a great weekend and another Crimson Tide national title come Monday.

XOXO and ROLL TIDE ROLL,
Mrs. Jones

I ❤ Alabama softball!!!

I have had some fabulous softball photos saved to share for a couple of weeks, and I hadn't gotten around to it. :-)

I love these pictures of my mom and sister from the first pitch at Alabama softball a few weekends ago. Mom threw out the first pitch, and sweet sister caught it. LOVE! :-)

A friend shot these two pictures and sent them to me from the same day. Needless to say, they are getting framed ASAP! Love my sweet sister and I'm so proud of her!

If you're in the market for great TV this weekend, check out ESPNU at 1 Central tomorrow. Alabama will be taking on LSU! :-) Cheer for my Bama girl!

Mrs. Jones

Target Tuesday: ShoeLaLa

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm finally linking up with Tara's Target Tuesday, and this week I'm sharing ALL the shoes I have on my Target wish list.

I need work wedges. And I'm in love with these!

$29.99

$29.99

$24.99

And then, I also loved the flats. The first pair reminds me of a pair Mrs.
Smith picked up in Chattanooga, TN!

You can never have too many pairs of (COMFORTABLE) shoes, especially ones that are work appropriate.

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Menu Monday: Greek Chicken Pasta

So, this blog post requires a little bit of explaining. I read all my the blogs I follow in Google Reader, which has this absolutely nifty little thing called "star" as a feature. I star all the recipes I read that I want to try, coupons I want to print and posts I love and want to link to or share.

So.... I've been going back through all my starred "favorites" to print copies of recipes I wanted to try. And that's how I re-stumbled upon what Jennifer at Tales of a Peanut blogged about in (gasp) August 2010. The recipe for it comes from her Mom, and she shared it with all of her readers.

Greek Chicken Pasta was pretty darn fabulous!

See?

(Forgive my pitiful iPhone pictures. It's hard to take good pics of pasta!)

Yeah, it was great. I highly recommend Jennifer's blog for some fabulous recipes!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones
