Double the celebration...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I hope you're having a wonderful time celebrating with your families. We had a few unexpected hiccups this week. My sweet mother-in-law fell and broke her leg pretty badly on Sunday. She had surgery on Monday, and we headed over to Georgia to help out. I'm grateful for the time and the holiday with them even if the reason it happened is no good at all!

But today is not only a wonderful day of giving thanks for us. It's Mr. Jones birthday! So I'm giving LOTS of thanks for him today!

I've got the most wonderful, fun-loving man and it's always nice to celebrate him for a day! I'm tackling his favorite coconut cake - and Thanksgiving dinner - for the very first time! Say a few prayers! I'll blog all about it afterwards...

Happy Thanksgiving - and happy birthday Mr. Jones!

Never too much love...

She's my perfect puppy girl. Isn't she pretty? I love her so much when she's a sleepy little thing. She flops and snuggles and it's all I can do to drag myself out of bed in the mornings when she's laying there like this saying "Mama, please don't go!!!"

Anyways, from me and EB, happy Wednesday! Hope your Thanksgiving prep is going swimmingly!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Fall winds down...

It's late November and fall is winding down, which means football season is almost at an end. The LSU game (and loss) was not a fun one to endure, but Bama bounced back with wins at Miss. State and at home against Georgia Southern.

I even got to meet the Georgia Southern eagle - his handler walked right by my aisle seat!

He was very pretty! I loved my pictures too. Yay for iPhones, right? Photos anytime.

Mr. Jones and I won't be making the trip down to the Plains to cheer on Alabama at Auburn this year due to family and holiday fun. But, I'll be cheering my heart out from home - and after the crazy football world weekend we had this weekend, who knows what our national title hopes might look like come next week!

I'm all for a rematch between the Crimson Tide and LSU in New Orleans - but then again, I'm for anything that gets Alabama to the national title game! :-)

What are your thoughts as football season winds down?

XOXO and ROLL TIDE!

The ultimate freebies...

So last week, Sears Optical posted a fabulous coupon that a savings blog I read shared. I printed a coupon for me. And one for my husband.

The free item they were giving away to get new people in their doors? Revlon sunglasses, regularly priced $99.99.  Here is a Sears coupon to possibly save on sunglasses for yourself!

Can I get a "yes PLEASE?!" :-)

So, I went. And then Mr. Jones went later. They were still in stock, so I have $200 worth of sunglasses for FREE! So excited. Do you like them?

Kudos to my sweet husband for using his coupon to get me a second pair! I'm excited about having these for vacation in a few weeks!

The Wine Chronicles: Far Niente Chardonnay

I got a treat on Friday night. I drank wine at my parent's house, and my mom shared some Far Niente Chardonnay with me! As I discussed before, I'm not the biggest chardonnay fan, but I do tend to enjoy the nicer ones.

This was definitely one I wouldn't purchase for myself, so I enjoyed drinking it with my mom!

The bottle is definitely a beautiful one as well! I always enjoy pretty bottles too! :-) Anyone else the same way?

In other wine news from the Jones household, we've decided our third anniversary present to each other will be a case of wine selected from the annual holiday wine tasting we got to attend. All of the wines from that night are discounted, so with the case discount, it's allowing us to get some bottles we loved but wouldn't usually purchase for everyday drinking. It will also arrive in early- to mid-December, just before our anniversary! (Side note: I can't believe it's almost been three years!)

I can't wait for it to arrive. I'll be blogging a LOT of "Wine Chronicles" posts when it arrives! I'm so excited. It's a mix of some red, two types of sparkling wine and a good bit of white wine. Yay!

Mrs. Jones

Kicking off the Holidays...

So, I got my first physical Klout perk on Friday afternoon! I was sooooo excited to get this Klout perk, because Macy's and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has always had a special place in Mr. Jones' heart. It's his birthday. He's a Thanksgiving baby. And he loves years like this when his birthday falls on Thanksgiving again. So, he got a little excited when I showed it to him!

A few thoughts:
- The packaging was super cute!
- The cookbook looks fabulous! I'll have to try a few things and share my favorites.
- It's a seriously big and cool cookbook. And it retails for about $25. Which makes me giggly that I got it for free! Thank you Klout - and Macy's!

{Disclaimer: I was given a copy of this cookbook by Macy's by Klout. But that's it.
All other opinions and notes are totally mine.}

Just a little sneak peek...

I love our pictures. I'll get the hard copies this week, and I can't WAIT!

The green I dream for you...

Haha. Forgive this gratuitous puppy picture of a post. But EB liked our new recycling bin when we got it, and I snapped this picture. It makes me laugh.

I did actually want to discuss recycling as well. :-) After the tornado hit, recycling got a little harder. But things are picking up, our recycling center is open again, AND my office has started accepting both magazines and newspapers for recycling. So I take my reading material to work and recycle it all in one step! Love that...

I've tried to get a lot more consistent with my recycling this fall, and it's been great. I feel better knowing I'm doing it too. I go through so much paper, and hated throwing stuff away.

What do you recycle? What's your favorite "green" effort?

Wishful Wednesday: Holiday hunting

Two weeks ago, I was running through our newly reopened Michael's and I saw this beauty. I fell in love, but a pair of them was not in the budget that week. I snapped some pics to remind me, and went on my merry way.

Go figure. Now when I'm ready to make the purchase, they are gone. And gone. And still gone. Sigh. I'm about to start begging Michael's to find a way to get me two. Good grief. They are supposed to get another shipment in on Tuesday night, so cross your fingers that I can find a pair of them on Wednesday!

What are you wishing for this week? Is it sad I'm almost done decorating for the holidays? But that's another blog post.....

Mrs. Jones

Total Maxxinista...

A couple of weeks ago, I totally scored at TJ Maxx. I had blogged earlier about my two favorite perfumes, both by Vera Wang, and a sweet friend sent me some Vera Wang Princess. I couldn't find Vera Wang Bouquet anywhere, and it is special to me. A bridesmaid gave it to me at my bridal shower and I wore it at wedding events and my wedding - and constantly after that!

Imagine my sheer joy when I found the $85 of Bouquet for just $40 at TJ Maxx on a random stop. I flipped. I bought it. Better yet, I had a gift card from my sweet mother-in-law that covered the ENTIRE purchase. Score.

Happy day. I'm LOVING having it again. It makes me smile each morning when I get ready and spritz it on!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Dixie's football pride...

Tomorrow is big.
Huge.
Make or break.
Do or die.

{Side note: Yes, I did take this photo. And I'm kinda proud of it.}

It's Nov. 5, but it may as well be a national title game.

The anticipation has been nuts. The atmosphere in Tuscaloosa cannot be topped. I'm crossing my fingers and saying some prayers that the same will be said for our lovely Crimson Tide.

I can't wait to cheer my team on with 101,000 of my closest friends! Let's hope I'm celebrating for the next few weeks. I'd be so excited to return to Atlanta, and hopefully make the trip down to New Orleans for the BCS National Championship in January.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Happy Red Cup Season...

It's the most wonderful time of the year. I've had two red cups this week. Yay, Starbucks. I have not, however, tried the SKINNY (yes, did you hear me? SKINNY!) peppermint mocha yet. But I will be soon... that's a brilliant invention, so thank you Starbucks!

I know I'm supposed to "respect the turkey" and all that jazz, but really, I don't. If my sweet husband's birthday weren't on Thanksgiving, I'd already be decorating for Christmas. But he loves Thanksgiving. So I do too. Kind of. My biggest celebration comes on Thanksgiving night, when Christmas season has officially begun. Anyone else feel the same way?

That's all for now.

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones

Wishful Wednesday: Take me to Tiffany...

So beautiful! I love this necklace and earring set! The earrings are a little more out of my price range, but the necklace might happen one day! What do you think? It's just different, but still classic Tiffany's.

That's what I'm dreaming of tonight. Happy November lovelies!

XOXO,
Mrs. Jones
